Probabilistic Analyses in Phase2 8.0
With the financial support from CEMI (Center for Excellence in Mining Innovation) and its sponsors, an alternative approach called the Point Estimate Method, a computing efficient probabilistic approximation, has been implemented in Phase2. This should lead to a broader use of the probabilistic approach in the mining industry as well as a better assessment of the reliability level of the design of underground openings. |

Cavern Reinforcement and Lining Design, a note prepared by Dr. Evert Hoek in response to a technical support question, submitted to Rocscience,
on the issue of reinforcement and shotcrete lining design for an underground cavern in a good
quality rock mass at a depth of 880 m below surface. The analysis presented here was carried out
using the program Phase2 8.0. |
